Whale Island is a complete oddity to anyone who has tried to study it. Most who try to explore the island have either comeback claiming strange, unbelievable lands or simply don't return at all. The only things known for certain, is that the area is surrounded by a strange magnetic field that not even log poses can bypass and an extremely dense fog that makes knowing which direction you're going impossible. As far as the marines are concerned, that territory is a no man's land, as anyone foolish enough to go there might as well be dead.
